From micah at videon-central.com Thu May 10 12:22:12 2007 From: micah at videon-central.com (Micah Willy) Date: Thu, 10 May 2007 15:22:12 -0400 Subject: [HVDG] HVDG News, May 10, 2007 Message-ID: <000c01c79338$82afa7f0$5780a8c0@gowilly> HVDGers, It's been a long time since I've posted information to this list, but we finally have some news to report on the course out at Circleville Park: May 10, 2007 Construction on the nine-hole course at Circleville Park will be getting started soon! Holes 1 through 3 will become unavailable starting in mid to late May for park construction and installation of the full nine-hole course. Please be patient and stay off of the course when you start to see construction vehicles. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an e-mail. Parks & Rec. website: http://twp.patton.pa.us/%2ffiles%2fParks%2fCirclevillepic.pdf Does anyone who has been more involved in this process have more detailed, course-specific plans? If so, it would be nice to get them posted on the website. Also, are there any plans of starting up a weekly league once this wave of expansion is complete? The course is an important step that I think we need to use as a launching point to get better organized and expand. I'm not sure how much lobbying went into getting the approval for this course or how much might be taking place off-list, but I know I have yet to participate in any club activities simply because I haven't seen any advertised on the list or the website since I moved to the area almost two years ago. It would be nice to take this opportunity to get this list active, begin organizing club events and start publicizing disc golf in the area as much as possible. Thanks to Micah and everyone else who got local disc golf to this point. Now let's take the next step. - Walter From LATTEN at juniata.edu Tue May 22 21:14:16 2007 From: LATTEN at juniata.edu (Latten, James E (LATTEN)) Date: Wed, 23 May 2007 00:14:16 -0400 Subject: [HVDG] Circleville plans In-Reply-To: <4653B9B2.2050009@alum.wustl.edu> References: <4653B9B2.2050009@alum.wustl.edu> Message-ID: <20FBBC8412C54F41A6273F6963FA576407C1735D@MAIL2K.juniata.edu> Walter (and cc: to all club members) - I'm interested in getting into a weekly league at Circleville once it's completed, and/or taking some trips to Altoona and/or IUP throughout the summer. Email me if interested. We also have a cute, somewhat technical object course which I designed here at Juniata College where I teach (hey, it keeps me somewhat in shape); all are welcome to come on down to Huntingdon this summer for a round.
