HVDGers,

The demo course at Circleville Park is ready for play! The three tees and
baskets have been set and are now ready to go. Feel free to go out and
play. There will be information available on the website soon, but to get
you started:

Directions:
>From North Atherton St.: Turn on to Valley Vista Drive at its intersection
with N. Atherton. This is the intersection with the new Sheetz station.
Take Valley Vista Drive south approximately 2.5 miles to Bachman Lane. Turn
right onto Bachman lane and follow the road to the right. At the bend in
the road, Bachman Lane turns into Circleville Road. Follow Circleville Road
approximately 2 miles and Circleville Park will be on your right.

>From West College Ave.: Turn on to Science Park Road near Murata. Take
Science Park Road through intersection with Circleville Road and onto Valley
Vist Drive. Approximately .5 mile after intersection, turn left on Bachman
Lane and follow the road to the right. At the bend in the road, Bachman
Lane turns into Circleville Road. Follow Circleville Road approximately 2
miles and Circleville Park will be on your right.

Course Description:
#1 - Tee is located just off the parking lot on Circleville Road side of
park. Hole plays towards the treeline where the basket is placed.
Length: 190 ft. Par: 3
#2 - Tee is located towards the pavilion from the basket of #1. Hole plays
downhill toward the treeline where the basket is placed.
Length: 175 ft. Par: 3
#3 - Tee is located 90 ft. from basket of #2 toward the outflow of the
retention pond. Hole plays uphill toward the walkway and around the
retention pond.
Length: 185 ft. Par: 3

All of the distances are approximate guesses right now. I have to
re-measure them after the adjustments that the construction crew made. In
particular, #2 may be a little short and it's pretty easy to overshoot it
into the trees. There are fairways mowed so it should be pretty easy to
figure out how the holes are played. Signs are coming soon, but from the
description and mowing, you shouldn't have a problem.

Feel free to play the baskets from slightly different (safe) locations to
give a nine hole feel. I'm also going to look at some options for an object
course that goes up into the school district's wooded lot that is adjacent
to Circleville Park. These options are not going to be advertised and
should only be used if there are few people at the park and are not
compromising safety. We want to encourage a wider use of the disc golf
course to get more support for the growth of the course. The more people
use the cement tees, the more other people will become curious and want to
check them out.

Well, I'm going to go play at lunch today. If you have a chance to come out
between 12:00 and 1:00, stop by and bring your discs.

Later,
Micah
